We’re looking for an intern with a curious mind, independent spirit, and a proactive “can-do” attitude to support our sustainability initiatives and the ESG function at Essentiel Antwerp.

Main tasks

The function of ESG has evolved into a dedicated role within the company. As an intern, you will directly support the ESG function in the execution and delivery of its ongoing projects. This internship offers a unique opportunity to participate in shaping the company’s sustainability strategy for the next five years, develop a resource library for internal teams, and provide data-driven recommendations based on your research and analysis.

Current focus in ESG field lies within the following areas:

  • Developing a list of preferred, alternative, and avoidable materials for the design team, considering environmental and social impacts, customer feedback, and industry benchmarks.

  • Compose an overview of material certifications, outlining their characteristics, advantages, and areas of application.

  • Researching and cataloguing process certifications, with a focus on identifying more environmentally friendly production alternatives.

  • Collaborating with various departments across the company to advance sustainability initiatives.

  • Researching and recommending relevant sustainability certifications for Essentiel Antwerp to pursue.

  • Assisting in documentation collection and submission for certification processes.

  • Contributing to the development of the 2025–2030 sustainability strategy (building on the groundwork already in place).

  • Supporting sustainability reporting by collecting, tracking, and entering data related to our ongoing initiatives.

Who are you

  • Educational background in sustainability, materials science, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of materials and, ideally, experience with sustainability certifications.

  • Driven, organized, flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, including critical thinking and source evaluation.

  • Proficient in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered an asset.

  • Affinity with the Essentiel Antwerp brand and an interest in the fashion industry.
